Minority influence:
· One person or a small group of people (i.e. the minority) influences the beliefs and behaviour of other people (i.e. the majority).
· Minority influence is most likely to lead to internalisation - both public and private change in beliefs.
· Moscovici studied this process with his 'blue slide, green slide' study (group of 6 were asked to view a set of 36 blue-slides that varied in intensity and then state whether the slides were blue or green. In each group were 2 confederates who said the slides were green on 2/3 of the trails)
Consistency -
· The consistency increases the amount of interest from other people.
