Dry mount: Solid specimen viewed whole or cut into thin slices. The specimen is then placed on the centre of the slide and a cover is placed on the sample.
Wet mount: Specimens are suspended in a liquid such as water or an immersion oil. A coverslip is placed on from an angle. E.g aquatic samples and other living organisms.
