Types of Samples

Unrepresentitive Samples

Random Sample -

This is the most common of all samples and involves: choosing the population from which the sample will be chosen, for example all year 10 students at a certain school, violent criminals etc.; prepare the sampling frame (a list of names from which the sample will be selected), for example a class register or phone book; then randomly select names from the list, for example every tenth name or randomly selecting them through a computer.

Snowball Sample -

This smaple type is used for groups which are hard to locate…
