Number:
- Index laws: the base always stays the same.
- Finding percentages: add the correct amount!
- To decrease using a percentage: 100-(percentage decrease amount)=x
- then x times number wanting to decrease
- To increase using a percentage: always have 1 before decimals to ensure it increases
- e.g. x 1.234
- Standard form: 'A' numbers must be as big as they can BUT between 1 and 10.
- e.g. A x 10x= 5.7 x 10 to the 8
Algebra:
- For equations like (x-4)/2 = (5x-1)/3, put it into brackets: 3(x-4)=2(5x-1)
- Be careful with letters and numbers: e.g. n+10 is NOT 10n
