3.1 CHANGING ATTITUDES TO MARRIAGE AND THE FAMILY LIFE

reasons for change: 

fifty years ago, most people only had sex in marriage and they married in a church. now people have sex before they marry, cohabiting is accpetable and most marriages are not in church. this coud be caused by safer contraception and fewer people being influenced by religion. 

devorce and remarriage used to be rare but are accepted today, and two in five marriages end in divorce. the changes could have been caused by cheaper divorce and women having more equality. 

family life has changed so that, although most children are still brought up by a mother and a father, the parents may not be married or they may have been married more than once. these changes are probably caused my the changing attitudes to sex, marriage and devorce. 

homosexuality used to be illegal but now homosexuals have the same rights to sexual activity as hetrosexuals including cival partnerships. these changes are possibly due to discoveries showing homosexuality is natural and changes to the law. 

3.2 CHRISTIAN ATTITUDES TO SEX OUTSIDE MARRIAGE

all christans believe adultery is wrong as it breaks one of ten of the ten commandments

most christians believe that sex before marriage is wrong because the church and bible teaches this.
