The confernece started on novemeber the 25, it was highly unlikely that the confernece was goign ot be a succes there was already problems between the wartime allience and the representatives did often not agree. Stalin opposed the division of germany as it would result in the industrail area of the Rhur falling into the US-dominated Western European Bloc.

Earnest Bevin opposed the German Peoples Congress for Untiy and a just peace due to the fact that the majoirty of the party supporters where from industrial Communist areas. As a result ut dud not truley effect the opinion of the German People.
