Location of industry

The location of industry changes over time due to environmental , economic and social reasons.

Primary industry:

Environental

- Raw materials become exhausted so industry moves elswhere, e.g. quarries move once all the rock has been extracted.

- Climate change means that some crops can be grown in new areas, e.g. increasing temperature means that vineyards have been set up in Kent.

Economic

- Lower costs make previously expensive areas cheaper, e.g. improvements in oil drilling technology mean that its now economically viable ( worth it) to…
