- change in substance/enzyme concentrations

- Oxygen -
- final electron acceptor
- Efficiency of Aerobic Respiration -
- only 32% efficient
- some energy lost as heat
- some ATP is used for active transport of pyruvate into mitochondria
- some ATP is used removing hydrogen ions from NADH
- some protons leak across mitochondrial membrane, so not all are available to generate ATP from glycolysis to mitochondria
