LIMESTONE!

LIMESTONE: CaCO3 (Calcium Carbonate) 

When lime stone is HEATED it formes CALCIUM OXIDE (CaO) -quicklime. 

and Carbon dioxide(Co2) is formed. 

This is called THERMAL DECOMPOSITION. 

  • CaCO3 > CaO + Co2 

QUICKLIME & SLAKED LIME

when you ADD WATER to QUICKLIME(Calcium Oxide) it produces SLAKED
