Lenses

?

Different Lenses produce different kinds of images- form images by refracting light and changing its direction.

CONVEX-

bulges outwards and causes rays of light parallel to the axis to be brought together (converge) at the principal focus.

CONCAVE-

caves inwards and causes rays of light parallel to the axis to be sprea out (diverge).

Axis of a lens is the line passing through the middle of the lens

Principal focus of convex lens= where rays hitting lens parallel to the axis meet.
