  • Kibera is the largest slum in the whole of Africa and is situated on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya. It is home to around 1 million people, of which 100,000 are orphaned children under the age of 18. It lacks sewers and has poor levels of sanitation and disease is one of the main killers due to awful levels of dirt and filth. Some statistics.
    • 60% of Nairobi lives in Slums and 30% of those live in Kibera.
    • Although Kibera is above the average population density, it still only gives 2 metres squared of land per person.
    • The flying toilet idea is also against the basic needs of humans, you excrete into a carrier bag and chuck
