Lamarcks Theory

1) Useful Changes, or acquired characteristics are obtained within the parents life that help them survive

2) These are then past on to the offspring

Lamarck thought the we are developed/evolved from primitive worms. His theory fell down for several reasons, mainly because of lack of evidence, and people could quite clearly see their acquired characteristics were not passed on to their children

Darwins Theory of Evolution :

This theory is based on us evolving via natural selection. The base of the theory is that simple life forms have evolved to become more complex. This evolution comes about by a process called natural selection.

Definition : Natural Selection - The process by which evolution takes place. Organisms produce more offspring than the environment can support so only those which are best suited environment, "The Fittest" will survive to breed and pass on their useful characteristics.

Darwins Theory is much the same apart from a few details :
