How is it caused:

·         Caused by a reduction in Lactase production in the process of growing up (childhood to adulthood). Can also go to the extreme of no lactase production.

Facts/ extra information:

·         Isn’t life threatening

·         It is manageable with the correct medication

·         The main difficulty with it is that sufferers will have to try and increase their calcium intake another way as they cannot get it from milk products.
