the longbow was a difficult weapon to master and took years of training to get the hang of, when the weapon was fully mastered longbowmen could fire around 12 arrows per minute which was more superior than crossbows or early gunpowder weapons.
in the late 13th century the army was changed= the cost and equipment transformed the knight into a distinct social social class to seperate from the infantry. the knights were mounted and connected to nobility and royalty.
