Kidneys and dialysis.
Transplants and dialysis.
For and against...
- Transplants only need one hospital appointment, whereas dialysis is a regular and time consumin (8 hours at a time).
- Under dialysis means you have to restrict your diet, and not eat salty foods, where as if you have a transplant you can eat mostly anything.
- Your body may reject the organ, and you also have to take immunosuppresent drugs to help the body accept the new kidney.
- Over many years, the balance of subtances in the blood may become harder to control by dialysis.
