Elizabeth Anscombe (Outlines failing of other ethical theories)
led revival of V.E With her book "Modern Moral Philosophy" 58 she argued the concept of Moral rules and moral obligation is flawed she attacked the traditions of Utilitarians and of Kant which both set out principles for people to follow and morality of different actions rather than character itself.
- Ideas we have we have obligations useless unless people believe in God because only reason for keeping a moral law is if there is a judge to reward/punish us people according to behaviour
- The way forawd is torevive the concept of Human flourishing( developing virtues to which good actions follow) does not depend on notion of God.
