Drumlin:

  • As the glacier meets the moraine, it begins to travel over it. It does not entrain the morain because it can't have enough enery and can't erode the resistant rock located in the moraine.
  • As the glacier moves over the moraine, it now begins to smooth the material as it moves over the back slope of the drumlin. This process of smoothing the drumlin is called where pieces or debris in the glacier erode away at the rocks below, like sanpaper whihc explains the smooth appearance of the drumlin.
