Jung: challenges

Jung's central claims concerning archetypes do have some support in that they appear in myths and religions and also in people's dreams; however, it has not been possible to devise a method of research that could fully verify Jung's claims

• It cannot be demonstrated through empirical evidence that there is a collective unconscious which contains the archetypes
• A resemblance between effects does not establish a similarity in causes…
