Bereavement: An emotional state of sadness brought on by the death of a person.

Mourning: A physical expression of the bereaved; a way of remembering the deceased.

Shiva for the seven day period after the funeral. The family stay at home and every mirror in the house is covered. I think this helps then to remember the deceased and not themselves e.g. not worried about their appearence, this helps them to focus. They also say Kaddish three times a day, but breaking the Shiva for the Sabbath or…
