Ramadan - Sawm

a.) Describe what happens at Ramadan.

Ramadan is the name of the ninth lunar month of the calendar. It lasts either 29 or 30 days from one new moon to the next. it was during Ramadan that the Night of Power took place (Muhammad in the cave, Jibre'el, 'recite' etc.) for this reason it is a very important time.

Ramadan is commemorated by a fast called Sawm. Sawm is one of the five compulsory acts a Muslim must perform. Ramadan is a chance to give prayer and the reading of the Qur'an more attention.
