Fasting - not eating or drinking; one of the five pillars is sawm during                       Ramadan

the five pillars - the obligations that Muslims must satisfy to live a good and             responsible life and to bring them closer to God

friday prayer - a prayer that Muslims hold every friday, after noon instead of the Zuhr prayer 

giving alms - giving money to charity
