Is the role of Pressure Groups controversial?

in elections, it can be seen that pressure groups have significantly too much influence. pressure groups can have a large influence in the funding of elections, and election candidates- they can almost 'buy' a nominee/candidates support for their cause. this is largely controversial as this is almost buying support, meaning that some very valid causes will struggle due to insufficient funding in comparison to other pressure groups. furthermore, it can be controversial as if one side of a societal argument has more money…
