Displayed formular- where you draw the substances showing all atoms and bonds.
Structural formular- shows arrangement of atoms in the molecule of a compond, shows each carbon and what it is bonded to.
Skeletal formular- lines are used to represent bonds between atoms are represented by their symbols. Have to show bonds that arent carbon hydrogen.
3D structure
Homologous series- family of organic compounds with the same functional group but different carbon chain length. (they have a general formular)
Isomerism
sterioisomerism- substances with the same structural formula but arranged differently in space
structural isomerism- substance with the same molecular formular but different structural formular.
