Interpretive researchers reject the use of quantitative methods and prefer qualitative methods of research. Qualitative research methods refer to any approach in sociology that sets out to uncover the meaning of social action rather than measure it through statistics. Interpretive sociologists prefer qualitative methods for the following reasons:
