Who influences us and how?
- Anything can influence us: whether it is advertisements or magazine articles
- With advertisements, the producers try to get hold of well- known people in order to get their product sold
- If you like the celebrity involved, you might be persuaded to buy the brand
- In this case, the celebrity is acting as an opinion leader
- Many pressure groups promote their causes through media, and collect information using the Freedom of Information Act 2000, university lecturers, and answers questions in Parliament
- An example would be Greenpeace
- Popular newspapers are mostly bought by people with The Sun having the average sales of 2,914,643 in a month
