Newspapers

Papers such as Sporting Life, were completely dedicated to sport. Other papers have specific pages which concentrate on high-profile sports.  Journalists specialised in sports commentary, like Neville Cardus who reported on cricket for the Manchester Guardian and former cricketer Sir Len Hutton wrote columns for the London Evening News in the 1950s. 

Magazines

The Cricketer magazine was first published in 1921 and the Topical Times was a weekly magazine from 1919-1940.
