Infectious diseases are found everywhere. Some can be mild, others can be 'killers'.

An infectious disease is caused by a microorganism entering and attacking your body. These microorganisms can be passed from one person to another.

Microorganisms that cause diseases are known as pathogens. Common pathogens are bacteria and viruses.
