2005- Lab & Lib Dem fared better among young people. Conservatives only had lead among those who are over 55. (2010 Cons gained 44% over 65 vote and 38% over 55 vote.
Labours policy on tuition fees seen to alienate some of the youngest voters, particularly in constituencies containing a university. Lib Dem broken promises.
Young people more idealistic, wanting better world. Older people more responsibilities and would be alarmed by high taxation of reckless public spending.
GENDER
Woman usually more pro Con than men. In 1980s gender gap was reversed and women more inclined to vote labour…
