Stopping Distances
Many factors affect the total Stopping Distance.
The stopping distance of a car is the distance covered in the time between the friver seeing a hazard and the car coming to a complete stop.
The factor are;
1. Thinking Distance
This is affected by two things
- How fast you're going- The faster you're going, the further you'll go, meaning more time for the car to come to a complete stop
- How 'dopey' you are- Things such as tiredness, drugs, alcohol, old age, inexperience etc. can all effect your reaction time.
