Experimental Archaeology on animal bones

Experimental archaeology can show the capability of tools and provide insight on how they may have been used. It can also indicate how animal may have been processed when scavenged carcass is compared to modern butchery techniques. E.g cut marks near joints may indicate butchery for meat whilst smashing the midsection for long bones suggests marrow extraction.

Differences between butchery then and butchery
