How Hitler became chancellor in 1933

  • Nazi party were the largest party in the Reichstag
  • However other parties would not work with Hitler
  • President Hidenburg had the power to appoint whoever he wanted as chancellor. He did not want Hitler as chancellor
  • In July 1932 the Nazi's got 37.5% of votes
  • Franz Von Papen was appointed chancellor as Hindenburg had hoped to create a right-wing government
  • By November the Nazi party lost 2 million
