There are several factors to consider when deciding which video format is best, such as encoding efficiency (file size) versus decoding speed (quality).

Use H.264 compression with AAC audio; container should be MP4 .

## Why? The combination of these two codecs is currently capable of terrific results at extremely low bitrates (which means small files sizes), while maintaining the ability to edit and playback smoothly (which is important if you plan on doing post-production).
