Homeostasis is defined as the maintence of a stable internal enviroment despite changes to the external enviroment.

Factors that affect the activities in a cell

Temperature

- if the temperature is too low metabolic reactions will slow down because particles have less kinectic energy, move slowly therefore fewer collisions. this reduces the rate of reaction.

-if temperature is too high, this denatures the proteins causing damage to various enzymes and cell membranes.

Amount of water
