THERMOREGULATION : control of body temperature & movement of heat around the body 

Body receives heat from the environment by:

- radiation 

- convection

- conduction 

Body loses heat to the environment by: 

- evaporation 

Radiation; transfer of heat from the body to a colder object by infrared waves ( not by contact

Conduction; heat transfered by contact of 2 objects/bodies from the warmer to the colder 

Convection; Transfer heat by the upwards movement of hot air & downwards movement of cold air around the body 

Evaporation; liquid turns to vapour (gas) , which has a cooling effect
