HOMEOSTASIS IN PLANTS
STOMATA
-> Control the water loss (vapour) or concentration in the plant.
-> Each stomata consists of 2 elongated Guard Cells.
-> System controlled by tugor pressure in the guard cells.
-> Stomata opens when water is absorbed by the guard cells & closed when water is lost from the guard cells.
Stomata opening: 1.) Potassium ions pumped into the guard cells vacuole-> surface membrane proteins are triggered by sunlight.
