Explain why Hitler introduced the Enabling Law on 23rd March 1933.

  • - It added legality to the emerging dictatorship and allowed Hitler to dismantle the Weimar Constitution without offending his supporters. End result would be paving the way for radicalization of society into being a one-party state.
  • - 'Legal veneer': reassured conversative allies and the middle-class that the Nazi Party was no longer an unprofessional, violent party.
