Structure

-enjambment 'dropped it into third/and leant across' contrasts with the other 2 verses which are end stopped. Highlights switch in characters midset, shocking, unexpected

-dramatic monologue

-regular format, 5 stanzas, contrasts with abnormality of the situation and emphasises how speaker is unconcerned by what he's done

-reduction in puncuation in stanzas 3-4, suggests speaker is acting quickly, not thinking about consequences

Language

-'I'd been tired, under the weather'-like a response to a question, 'under the weather'-cliche, as if that's a justifiable reason for his actions

-'ansaphone kept screaming'-personification, problems arise with technology

-monosyllabic line 'I let him have it'-shocking violence, sharp, quick line punches
