The suffragists only believed in peaceful methods of protest, the fact that the suffragists only believed in peaceful protests made the effect on the point they were trying to get across go very slowly, it was still effective as they gained women a lot of respects due to the respect they showed from themselves, it just took a long time for their point to be heard.
