~Public Health reforms by liberal government proposed in 1909 finally go into affect in 1910 after a bitter struggle with the house of lords to help support the poor with pensions to keep them above the poverty line.

~ Cholera outbreak of 1854 in Soho leads to Dr John Snow discovering from observations and mapping affected areas that those dying from cholera are high consumers of water and so he comes up with the theory that cholera is awaterborne disease.

~(1861) Louis Pasteur publishes Germ Theory finally getting rid of the old idea of miasma foul smelling air causing disease…
