Hippocrates was a Greek physician born in Kos in 460BC. He died in 370BC. Hippocrates made such impactful impression on medical history that his name is still very much associated with medicine today.
- All newly qualified doctors take what is called a 'Hippocratic Oath'. This oath states the obligations and proper conduct of doctors.
- He was one of the first doctors to use 'clinical observation'. This was when a doctor would look at an issue of poor health by using a process of reasoning and observation. He would record the observation, and then decide on the best treatment for that patient.
