Henry Plummer

Plummer was originally a town marshal of Nevada city and leader of one of the largest vigilantes groups of all time: the road agents. He then got ‘promoted’ to sherrif of Bannack. Both of these positions made fellow town members believe what he said therefore both him and the road agents could get away with crime. Later, in 1864 Plummer and two of his men were found guilty of murder and therefore sentenced for death.
