Health is defined as 'a state of complete physical, social and mental well being'

Fitness is the ability to meet or cope with the demands of the environment.  The advantages of having good health are the following:

  • Reduces the chance of being affected by illness/injury
  • Has a positive impact on health
  • Makes it easier to complete physical work
  • Easier to cope with the demands of the environment


  • Ill heath can effect your fitness
  • An increase in fitness will not always stop you
