Clinical psychologists aim to reduce the distress and improve the psychological wellbeing of their patients. They use psychological methods and research to make positive changes to their clients' lives and offer various forms of treatment.

They must maintain integrity, record keeping and confidentiality. They must aim to promote psychological wellbeing and reduce psychological distress - however, they cannot prescribe medication.
