Aim:

  • To find out whether baby mokeys would prefer a source of food, or a source of comfort and protection

Method: 

  • Carried out lab experiments using monkeys raised in isolation.
  • The monkeys had two surrogate 'mothers', one made of a wire mesh containing a feeding bottle, the other made of cloth but with no bottle.
