Hardwick Hall (more glass than wall)

Location

The hall was built on top of a large hill overlooking Bess of Hardwick's land and the people that worked it. It is located in the Midlands and allowed Queen Elizabeth to stay informed in this area through Bess. Hardwick was also built opposite Old Hardwick and it was built near to her other properties. It was also located near a stone quarry which supplied all the stone used in the hall.

Typical Features

The hall had extensive parkland for hunting. It had a herbal garden. The staterooms were built on the top floor. In the long gallery, family portraits were displayed
