This piece is from Handel's oratorio Messiah. It was composed in 1741. A SATB choir sings this piece accompained by strings and continuo. It is in the key of A Major with a time signature of 3/4 and a tempo of allergo. This all effect the mood making it joyful. This mood stays the same throughout as baroque music tends to have one prevailing mood for a whole piece.

Its melody and structure is based on 4 main ideas that keep reoccuring throughout the piece.It starts with a ritornello then moves on to the first idea.
