Haloalkanes
A primary haloalkane has the halogen atom at the end of a chain.
Hydrolysis: is a chemical reaction in which water is a reactant, there are alkali hydrolysis reactions where OH- is the reacting species.
Reactivity:
Here is a large difference between the electronegative of the Carbon and the Hydrogen on a halogen, therefore this makes the C-H bond polar. There is a + on the C and a - on the halogen atom.
The C+ is attacked by nucleophiles and they are electron pair donors and they have a partial or full negative charge.
Examples : OH-, H2O, NH3.
