Introduction:  On Friday 6th November 2020 I watched a streamed production of Small Island by Andrea Levy adapted by Helen Edmundson and directed by Rufus Norris, Recorded through National Theatre Live on 30th May, 2019.The play is set in a journey from Jamaica to the uk through the second world war upto 1948, it follows the lives of Queenie whom longs to escape her Lincolnshire butcher life, Hortense who yearns to escape jamaica and Gilbert who aspires to be a professional lawyer as they embark through the history of Jamaica and the UK.
