Glossary - Medieval Medicine - c1250 to c1500
- Pandemic - wide spread of disease
- Royal Charter - a document from the monarch granting a right or power to a particular group/person (shows that the monarch is supportive of the particular project.)
- Malnutrition - Lack of proper nutrition
- Physician - someone who practices medicine
- Scourge - a person or thing that causes great suffering
- Quarantine - seperating the sick from the healthy to stop the spread of disease
- Miasma - 'bad' air that c was said to have caused sickness
- Penence - a punishment inflicted on yourself to show that you are sorry for your sins
- Flagellants - an extreme religous group in the medieval period. they would self-harm to show their faith
- Primary Souce - a source from the time being studied
- Secondary Source - a source about the time being studied
- Pestulence - a big spred of disease
- Secular - non-reglious or not in anyway connected to spiritual beliefs
