Foreign Policy

Foreign Policy is how your country deals with the problems outisde/in different countries. 

Gladstone's priciples:

  • To foster the strength of the empire by maintaining not expanding it
  • To aim for peace and avoid conflict- Retrenchment & Moral views
  • To cultivate and maintain the Concert of Europe
  • To acknowledge equal rights of all nations (moral)
  • That British foreign policy should always be inspired by a love of freedom
